Aubrey Organics, Inc. is America's first manufacturer of 100 percent all-natural (non-petrochemical, non-synthetic) skin and body care products, and the world's first certified organic cosmetics processor. The Tampa, Florida-based global bodycare company produces more than 200 personal care products for the whole family (even the family dog). Each is naturally preserved using a blend of vitamins A, C and E and citrus seed extract (the first of its kind). All of Aubrey's herbal shampoos, creams, lotions, cosmetics and soaps are formulated using coconut fatty acids, essential fatty acids and liquid coconut oil, without paraben and free of artificial fragrances or dyes. Their products—natural sun protection, cosmetics, perfumes, skin care for women, men and babies and pet pampering products—are handmade in small, 50 gallon batches and sold almost exclusively at health food stores throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America.
In 1994, Aubrey Organics became the first personal care company to be certified as an organic processor by Quality Assurance International. Additionally, the multi-million dollar company's Tampa production plant meets the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Organic Program standards for manufacturing. In 2004, Aubrey earned yet another historical "first" — becoming the first American company to be awarded the BDIH Certified Natural Cosmetics seal. (BDIH is Germany’s Federation of German Industries and Trading Firms for Medicines, Natural Products, Food Supplements and Body Care.)
CEO Aubrey Hampton, Ph.D., who founded the pioneering natural cosmetics company in 1967, began hand-making herbal makeup and lotions with his mother on their Indiana organic farm when he was only nine years old. The herbalist and phytochemist launched Aubrey with a modest two products—Relax-R-Bath and GPB Hair Conditioner, both mixed in his own kitchen. Some forty-two years later, Hampton claims he still personally formulates each of his premium natural skin and body care products. Decades before "all-natural" became a ubiquitous term in the personal care and cosmetics industries, Hampton was the first to use coconut fatty acids in hair and skin treatments and the first to formulate cosmetic products with jojoba oil, evening primrose, blue camomile and Matcha green tea. He has also penned several best-selling natural health and beauty books via Aubrey's publishing company, Organica Press. Titles by Hampton include What's in Your Cosmetics? and Natural Organic Hair and Skin Care: Including A to Z Guide to Natural and Synthetic Chemicals in Cosmetics.

Notable Eco Activity
Aubrey Organics, Inc. skin care products are considered green not merely because of their many organic and natural certifications (no synthetics or petrochemicals=no toxin leaching into the air, land or water), but also because of the company's staunch anti-animal testing stance and earth-friendly packaging—recycled cardboard and recyclable, low-ink plastic (HDPE) bottles. Aubrey also sponsors organic agriculture in Ghana and Honduras, as well as herb development in Japan, as part of its commitment to promoting sustainable, organic farming practices around the world. Domestically, the company informs some 70,000 readers throughout the U.S. from the post-consumer-product pages of its bi-annual arts and environmental activism magazine, Organica. "We have taken a leadership role in giving back to the earth, its people and its culture, as we are all connected. That is only fair," said CEO Aubrey Hampton.
All Aubrey Organics products bear the Coalition for Consumer Information in Cosmetics (CCIC) “leaping bunny” logo, the internationally recognized symbol for “cruelty free” cosmetics. Hampton, a longtime animal rights advocate, was named the 1990 "Activist of the Year" by the Culture and Animals Foundation.
In 1967, Aubrey was also the first cosmetics company ever to list their ingredients on product packaging.
