Earth Friendly was founded in 1993 by John E. Vlahakis and is family owned and run. It provides safe, high quality cleaning products for households and pets. The company strives to make their products with eco-friendly ingredients that compete with "the majors in performance, price and convenience". They have an international distribution of over 60 household products, an industrial/bulk Pro-Line of over 25 products, and a Natural Pet Care Line of 16 items.

Earth Friendly Products uses no toxins, petrochemicals, bleach, ammonia, phosphates or other harmful ingredients. They adhere to a strict "Freedom Code", a list of chemicals and ingredients that are not used in their products. They also never test on animals nor do they use animal ingredients in their products. They use corn, coconut, citrus and other essential plant oils and herbs.

Their products are completely biodegradable so that there is no further environmental impact or toxic clean up costs. Their condensed and ultra-condensed, plant-based formulas provide good value. They use safe surfactants in accordance with the EPA's Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) such that their products are non-toxic, free of phosphates and have a neutral pH.

Earth Friendly has four manufacturing plants in the United States and they source their ingredients locally so that they contain product costs, maintain control over product quality and provide jobs locally.
