Green For All is a nation-wide advocacy group seeking to influence a shift to a clean, green economy, create green collar jobs, and assure equal opportunity in filling those jobs. Green For All activities aim to:

• Link activists and advocates, organizations, policy makers, practitioners, and business, labor, and community leaders together in dialogue to advance the vision of a green economy that benefits all Americans;
• Lift public awareness on the potential of green-collar jobs to transform the economy, curb global warming, and build pathways out of poverty;
• Leverage best green practices and policy into model programs and legislation that can be adopted at the national, state or local level;
• Provide technical assistance to mayors and community groups to implement local green-collar job initiatives; and
• Build an on-line community of practice to convene thought-leaders and share leading program models, technical documents and templates.

Green For all is geared to fight both poverty and pollution at the same time.

Notable Eco Activity

GREEN JOBS PLEDGE: Launched the Local Government Green Jobs Pledge, a tool to get cities to commit to green-collar job creation.

U.S. CONFERENCE OF MAYORS: Persuaded the U.S. Conference of Mayors, representing more than 1,200 mayors nationwide, to adopt the Local Government Green Jobs Pledge.

GREEN CITIES PROGRAM: Launched a Green Cities Program, which works closely with local leaders in select cities to develop green economic development plans. Cities so far enrolled include: Newark, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Atlanta.

RETROFIT AMERICA'S CITIES PROGRAM: Launched a "Retrofit America's Cities" program, in partnership with MacArthur Genius Fellow Joel Rogers. The program will work with community groups, local governments, training institutions, and labor to make America's buildings more energy efficient.
