Kirkland Signature Laundry Detergent

Costco continues to offer quality products under it's own label with Kirkland Signature Laundry Detergent. Offered in concentrated form for an inexpensive price, more loads of laundry can be done with less concern about packaging disposal. Costco has created this detergent with no phospates, dyes, optical brighteners or bleaches. Also, all the chemicals used are plant-based, are safe for septic systems and nothing was tested on animals. It's also claimed that efficient manufacturing and distribution methods were used, but no details were given. Though the packaging claims it is environmentally friendly, there is no outside certification and no detailed explanation of what they mean by that.

It is only available at Costco stores throughout the United States and Canada. It is not available for purchase online.

Do not feel that clothes smelled as fresh using this detergent. Will not purchase again.

Warning: I'm pretty sure this detergent is the cause of some major skin rashes and irritation that my fiance and I have been experiencing. I've read that the vague ingredient listing is because this is loaded with irritating enzymes. I'd hate to bash a product and be wrong, but I'm fairly certain this is the culprit.

That's interesting that you mentioned the skin rash. I just found this site online (by typing "skin rashes from Kirkland laundry detergent", trying to find out if anyone else has experienced skin problems with this new formulation.

I just ran out of their old detergent, and used this new one. I have been itching all week, yet there are no visible rashes. I am trying to narrow the cause down, and this seems like the only new variable in my life.

You may want to check out Watkins new laundry detergent. It is recommended for sensitive skin. It's also one of the very few detergents certified by the EPA!

We switched to laundry products from Melaleuca and my daughter's rashes disappeared, after trying many other 'natural' products.
