The word Global is defined as and pertaining to worldwide; universal; encompassing the of the whole world and all of it's ecosystems. It is used to define not only the planet Earth but also the collective consciousness of it's inhabitants, for instance when we speak of Global viewpoints. It is also used to describe the climactic change phenomenon occurring worldwide known as Global warming.

Some would argue that the word Global has replaced the words International or World in the current vernacular.
