The Green Vehicle Guide is the EPA's (United States Environmental Protection Agency) guide to help consumers find "green" or environmentally friendly vehicles. It is maintained by the EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality and provides information about the environmental performance of vehicles. The guide has dynamic search and side-by-side comparison capabilities. Using a scoring system of 0 to 10, the guide scores vehicles of all kinds on their fuel economy, the larger numbers indicating better performance. The EPA recommends using their "SmartWay" and "SmartWayElite" search function as the best way to certify that the vehicles have exceeded environmental thresholds of Air Pollution and Greenhouse Gas scores.
Green vehicles can also be found at DriveCleanCA, California's Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board's site. That site also offers a dynamic search engine and side-by-side comparison as well as providing reviews of various vehicles. In addition, Australia has a thorough guide sponsored by the Austalian Government Initiative.
