Pollutants

Pollutants are waste materials that contaminate air, soil and/or water. There are six common pollutants. They are particle pollution, ground-level ozone, carbon monoxide, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxide and lead. Any or all of these hazards can harm the health of people, animals or the environment.

Despite mass efforts by the EPA , such as the Clean Air Act , there are counties where the air samples still show at least one of the six common pollutants at unhealthy levels.

Acid rain, immune and central nervous system problems, respiratory issues, and chemical imbalances of water nutrients are all direct negative effects of these and other pollutants in our ecosystem.
