Post Consumer Recycled is defined as materials or finished products that have completed their intended life and been put into the system of recycling. These are not pre-manufacturing or post-manufacturing wastes, rather products that have been made, put into the free market, purchased, used and finally recycled.
Some examples of post consumer recycled products are office paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, plastics and metals. These items contain recoverable and reusable materials. The majority of these products go in and through residential consumers. Post consumer recycled is a crucial step in the sustainability of our environment.
