People want to be happy. It's a basic premise for many of us. Life, health, happiness. But ... how do we get there? How do we go from being stressed out, worried, living-in-the-real-world people to being in that magic, blissful state we think is nearly impossible to attain? What secrets do happy people know that we don't?
Feel the love. Family. Friends. Neighbors. Connect with the people around you. Do something for someone else, just to see them smile.
Take the time. When you take a moment for yourself, you bring yourself back to center, back in balance. Have a cup of tea. Sit in the sunshine a moment. Enjoy having a really clean kitchen sink. Do one little thing for yourself every day; you deserve it!
Get with nature. Journal. Take photos. Sit and observe, and soak up the wondrous feeling of being outdoors and alive on this amazing planet. Look around you at the life teeming in surprising places: sidewalk cracks, tree bark, rooftops.
Move it. Walk. Walk in your neighborhood, to the library, to school with your kid. Bike somewhere, and take a friend. Move and the world moves with you.
Have less. Decide what tangible things are truly important to you, and why, and let the rest go. You'll feel lighter. Your home will have more space for you to fill with your own beautiful self. You won't feel as caught up in the consumerism maze and you'll find more things that are truly important to you.
Give it up. Give something of value to someone else. Give the things you no longer need to someone who has less. Give your time to a cause you believe in. Give of yourself in any way and the rewards will come back to you multiplied.
What makes you happier?

Great tips!
I tithe ten percent of my time to my friends and their projects (about 11 hours a week). If there aren't enough projects to fill the time, I read. This has served me well for about twenty years. Time is much more important than money and can be a more powerful gift.
