Super Sized Cycles
Ever wondered how heavy people manage on those tiny little ultra-light road bikes? The real skinny: they don't. So Super Sized Cycles builds bikes for plus-sized and large people that easily support their weight, are comfortable and safe and inspire them to exercise. It's size with attitude—that, plus fitness and mobility.
The foundation of these cruisers is, well, a strong foundation. Heavy-duty frames (most of chrome-molybdenum, some of a thick aluminum) provides secure support. Every part has been selected for strength, from connections and drive trains to rims, tires and even the seats.
If you should need that little extra boost, try an electric bike. Twist the throttle for a spurt of power to help you sail over the obstacles. Electric bikes are meant to augment pedal power, not replace it. "There is no reason for us to avoid riding our bike into town to get some milk because there's a big hill on the way home," encourages the Super Sized Cycles team. "There is no reason for us to beg off a ride with a group of friends for fear that we'll lag way behind, or worse yet, be unable to finish. With electric bikes you can keep moving through up, around, and through anything that comes your way!"
Super Sized Bikes (and its own brand, Zize bikes) offers a large-sized bicycle for anyone: mountain bikes, street cruisers, three-wheelers and recumbents, in models made to hold riders of up to 550 pounds. There's no reason not to saddle up this spring to slim down some extra pounds and your carbon footprint with pedal power.

I'm thinking of getting an adult recumbent trike; specifically, a TerraTrike. The recumbents are super stable, close to the ground for that go-cart rush, and look like they're a lot of fun besides. I never learned how to ride a conventional bike and I'm pushing retirement age, so this has a lot of appeal for me.
Okay, I don't know whether Super Sized bikes are cool or scary. Still, I'd rather see a plus-sized rider on a sweat-powered Super Sized bike than on an electric scooter thingamajig.
I think the trikes are also great for commuting to the store -- so easy to tote things!
