Fáilte! Whether you're Irish or honorary irish today, it's a great day to be green! Super Eco has these super easy ways to add green to your St. Paddy's Day festivities:
Green your brew. And we don't mean with food coloring (although a touch of spinach juice adds both color and nutrition); serve locally-brewed beers or organic beers like those from New Belgium Brewing Company in Colorado (the world's first wind-powered brewery) or Peak Organic Brewing Co. in Maine. And drink eco-responsibly when you do.
Eat green. Serve locally-grown foods if you can. Think green: spinach, kale, broccoli. Whip up a corned beef and cabbage slow-cooker dish or vegetarian Colcannon (use organic kale and add leeks and scallions for a delicious green touch). We're not sure green Jell-O counts.
Green your glassware. Serve those brewskies in reusable glass mugs, or get everyone to bring their own (and back home again) instead of disposables.
Craft green. Don't forget the kids! Reuse and recycle with craft ideas like making a pot of gold, a shamrock magnet, and other easy quick projects. Say no to cheap plastic trinkets. Too little for crafts? Deck out your little one in a Zoe and Sprout "100% organic" onesie.
Give green back. Plant a tree. Help clean up a neighborhood park. Use Craigslist to find volunteer opportunities in your community. Take a walk through your neighborhood and look for four-leaf clovers and pots of gold.
More ideas from our friends at Causecast, and also here and here. How are you greening your Saint Patrick's day today?
