Soleil Moon Frye eco-baby gear hits Amazon

The offerings at Amazon.com are looking a little greener these days with the addition of The Little Seed collection from eco-baby site The Little Seed. Little Seed co-founder Soleil Moon Frye, none other than TV’s Punky Brewster from back in the ’80s, has continued making a splash at The Little Seed with posh eco-goods and perky eco-ramblings.

The Little Seed's home base, of course, is its stylish Los Angeles boutique. The eco-friendly shop includes a diaper changing station, discreet nursing lounge, arts and crafts area for children and green accoutrements from top to bottom, from the VOC-free paint on the walls to the recycled shopping bags. The high-end selection is aimed to tempt tony LA moms into the green fold: ultra-modern Orbit baby strollers, fully sustainable bicycles from LIKEaBIKE, sustainable furniture from Kalon Studios and jewelry from Jennifer Meyer.

Frye lets loose on the Seedling Blog, veering between bubbly, personal musings about family and friends, and no-holds-barred posts on hot holistic topics such as the childhood vaccination debate.

Ok, so this Hollywood mama isn't the greenest crayon in the box. "I am not the perfect green mom," Frye admits at the Amazon.com shop. "There are days that my oldest indulges in the joys of candy, and I do pull out toys from time to time that are probably not the most eco, especially when they are having a meltdown and want something with a lot of sounds and colors. For me, it's just about balance, living the best life that we can every day." We think she's got the right idea, after all, and we applaud The Little Seed for bringing eco-friendly items and ideas to a demographic that might easily pass them right by.
