Baby steps toward greener living

We're so deep in the thick of being green here at Super Eco that sometimes we get caught off guard by the number of people who still find the prospect of greener lifestyles overwhelming. We do our share of how-to's, but we know there's always room for more—which is why we're excited to welcome GoGreen Online to the circle of green sites showing you how to green without making you crazy in the process.

GoGreen Online offers tips and tactics in five key areas: energy, water, zero waste, transportation and food. They specialize in keeping it simple, shepherding readers with a gentle, baby-steps approach. Why so basic? GoGreen Online polled 278 people about why they weren’t changing their behaviors to go green. The top responses were the usual suspects:

  1. Going green seems overwhelming.
  2. People don’t know where to start.
  3. People aren't sure their actions will actually make an impact.
  4. It's too difficult to make lasting changes.

We know better! We've been helping readers work through exactly those challenges here at Super Eco, too. We like the tools GoGreen Online is using to help nudge readers along.

  • The 20% Challenge Can households reduce home energy use by 20% this year?
  • GreenIQ An interactive family learning game — post your score for points
  • Free at-home resources Cutouts and activities are available for use in your house
  • GoGreenTV Watch original programming to help save money as well as the planet
  • Inspiration More about why to go green, plus inspiring stories on green heroes
