Julia Louis-Dreyfus is an actress and environmentalist with homes in New York City and California. Dreyfus was born in New York City to Judith - a writer, and William Louis-Dreyfus - an attorney and billionaire business executive. She has one sister, Phoebe, who is a social worker.
Dreyfus' parents divorced during her childhood and she spent the majority of her time with her mother and stepfather, L. Thompson Bowles, living in a variety of places including Tunisia and Colombia for Bowles work with Project Hope. She studied at Northwestern University in Illinois before moving on to acting roles on "Saturday Night Live", and most famously, "Seinfeld." She now has her own show called "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
Dreyfus has won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, one Golden Globe and one Emmy for her portrayals of Elaine Benes on "Seinfeld." She also won an Emmy for "The New Adventures of Old Christine."
She is married to Brad Hall, whom she met at Northwestern and they have two children.
